Royal British Legion Service of Remembrance

Grove Park, Weston-Super-Mare
Sunday 13th November 2016 – 10.58 a.m.
The Mayor of Weston-super-Mare, Councillor Alan Peak and the Town Council will be supporting the Royal British Legion Service of Remembrance to be held at the War Memorial in Grove Park, Weston-super-Mare on Sunday, 13th November, 2016 commencing at 10.58.

The Royal British Legion parade will leave the High Street at 10.25 a.m. prompt. Organisations that will be joining the parade in the High Street are requested to be in attendance by 10 a.m. at the latest. The parade will enter Grove Park via the gate next to the lodge. Following the Service of Remembrance the Deputy Lord Lieutenant and Town Mayor will take the salute at the march past and the parade will return to High Street.
A “Field of Remembrance”, in front of the War Memorial will be designated for people to place wooden crosses and personal tributes for the week leading up to the Service. People are asked to please respect the occasion and not lay tributes in this area during the actual service.
The Town Council is working to minimize its carbon footprint. The Order of Service is available to download. People attending the Service are therefore asked to use electronic versions of the order of service where possible.

Established in 2000, Weston-super-Mare Town Council is the ‘parish’ council for the town. It has 31 Councillors who take no allowance and is the only democratically elected body that exclusively represents the people of Weston-super-Mare.
