Royal British Legion Service of Remembrance


SUNDAY 12th NOVEMBER 2017 – 10.58 a.m.

The Mayor of Weston-super-Mare Councillor Mrs Jos Holder and the Town Council will be supporting the Royal British Legion Service of Remembrance to be held at the War Memorial in Grove Park, Weston-super-Mare on Sunday, 12th November, 2017 commencing at 10.58 am.

The Royal British Legion parade will leave the High Street at 10.25 a.m. prompt. Organisations and individuals wishing to parade from the High Street are requested to be in attendance by 10 a.m. The parade will enter Grove Park via the gate next to the Lodge. Following the Service of Remembrance the Lord Lieutenant of Somerset Mrs Annie Maw and Town Mayor will take the salute at the march past and the parade will return to High Street.

The Royal British Legion have arranged for there to be a screen in the lower end of the park showing the service at the war memorial.

A “Field of Remembrance” in front of the War Memorial will be designated for people to place wooden crosses and personal tributes for the week leading up to the Service. People are asked to please be respectful and not lay tributes in this area during the actual Service of Remembrance.
